Blame & Responsibility

I've always been a closet politician except when someone just seems to be spouting off crazy political rhetoric that irritates me, then I've been known to stir people up or rub people the wrong way. I've come to realize something about politics though, that now keeps me from jumping on any bandwagon or setting an ambush for the other bandwagon. The fact of politics hinges on the choice between "Blame and Responsibility". Most people would take that and turn it into blaming the other guy and creating a fantastic mirage of how you are going to be responsible for magically making things all better, or at least better than the other guy could do. I'm talking about the choice of blaming someone else for how things have been handled, or taking responsibility for it yourself. I'm not seeing many people do the latter. As Christians we are responsible to influence the world we live, taking the steps to transform it into the Kingdom of God. This isn't done by blaming others, but by stepping up and taking on the responsibility. We have been empowered by the Holy Spirit, we have no excuse for not doing what God calls us to do. In this nation with the freedoms to positively influence others in just about any imaginable way, we find ourselves screaming at one another about why we are losing our wealth, why we are squandering our power, and slipping into the oppression of the systems of this world. We need to be taking responsibility for our downfalls, asking forgiveness from those we have failed to influence positively, and start acting like heirs to the throne of God!

Driving Fear

Does fear drive us? What is it that we fear? Insecurity, pain, suffering, failure, insignificance, loneliness, instability, tyranny, injustice, Death!?
What actions do we do because of these fears? Do these fears define who we are?

God doesn't want us living in fear, but in confidence of His love, guidance, and work. Do you really believe this? This is what faith in Christ is all about.

An Introduction To My Passion

Are we so disconnected from God that we are unaware of what His heart is for. That He desires to elevate those with nothing but Him. We are so easily entangled by the pleasures of the world, so much so that we can go about our daily lives with little concern for those who are desperate for us to share Jesus with them. Not the Jesus we have created, the gentle teaching Jesus who enlightens us to live better lives for our own pleasure. They are desperate for us to share the empowered Jesus, who healed them from all sorts of disease and death, criticized the corrupted systems of social power, taught about the coming Kingdom which emphasizes abundant living in love, joy, and peace, and He was willing to die to establish this Kingdom. In John 15 Jesus prays to the Father that we would continue on the work He started, that we would receive the Holy Spirit as our helper, who would empower us to pursue and accomplish the mission He is sending each of us to do.
